Underwriting is the process by which a mortgage application and property are assessed for risk and eventual approval or rejection.When a loan is in underwriting it is the responsibility of one person to determine whether a loan application is or is not a worthy investment. They will determine if there is any extensive risk in the investment of the property or into you as a borrower. As your loan officer it is my job to understand what the underwriters are looking for when it comes to your strengths as a borrower, so underwriting is less about you and more about the property. I will get to know you and your situation so I can properly represent you when it comes time to buy, because you are more than a paper file and shouldn't you have someone on your side that knows that?
